Roam Wild’s Financial Model
Financial-Support Standards
Roam Wild is founded on the notion that all youth, regardless of financial means, should be able to participate in the joys of outdoor adventure. Therefore, we work hard during the offseason to make sure we raise enough money to cover camper fees for those families who may need support. Additionally, we do not mandate a one-time fee, families are only asked to pay what they can after the initial registration fee.
Families are asked to pay whatever they can beyond the registration fee to support their child’s adventure. Families will receive a one-time bill for the total cost of the camp, but families are only asked to pay what they can. If a family cannot pay anything beyond the registration fee, that is completely acceptable. Families are always welcome to set-up monthly payments if they wish to pay for more than just the registration fee.
Financial Support Program Guidelines
Roam Wild is committed to making camp available to any youth who is interested, regardless of family income. This is why, at Roam Wild, we have decided to simply ask that parents pay a registration fee. Each trip has its own registration fee ranging from $35 for a one-day trip to $150/175 for a 10/12-day trip. We will send all families a bill for the total cost of the trip, but it is up to the family to decide how much beyond the initial registration fee they will pay. Families may, if they wish to, pay for the total cost of a trip over several months, or more. However, if family finances are such that they simply cannot pay beyond the registration fee, we do not ask for anything beyond that fee.
Aside from income, families should consider the number of children in the household and extenuating factors such as family illness, job loss, family members in college, and so on when deciding how much they can afford.
Roam Wild is committed to being as generous as possible and making camp attainable for all who are interested, regardless of income. The list below provides a guideline as to how much a family should be willing to pay family of the total cost of a trip. Lastly, families may set up monthly billing cycles to pay for their child’s camp over several months, if they so choose.
Suggested Payment By Household Income
